SUGRUE SUNDAYS
SUGRUE SUNDAYS
Join us for Sugrue Sundays – our series of leisurely alfresco summer lunches at the winery.
This summer Bee Tree vineyard will play host to some of the UK’s best chefs who will be cooking a menu of their favourite dishes grilled over our very own vine cuttings and which we'll be pairing with a selection of our sparkling and still wines.
The afternoon will begin with an aperitif among the vines before we all sit down to 4 courses of deliciousness overlooking Bee Tree and the South Downs. Ana and I will be sharing insider stories on the wines, as well as providing guided tours of the vineyard and the winery.
Tickets include:
- five glasses of Sugrue South Downs sparkling/still wine
- a delicious 4-course menu cooked over fire
- a vineyard and winery tour
- a special discount on wine purchases made on the day
With just 40 tickets available for each event, we’re expecting these to sell out very quickly – so get booking ASAP to secure your ticket!
Why not make a weekend of it? For accommodation a little further away, there’s The Pig in the South Downs – always a worthwhile treat.
Please note that tickets for Sugrue Sundays are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Kamil Oseka & THE PIG (Sunday 15th June, 12.30pm)
Who else to kick off Sugrue Sundays than our close friends at THE PIG?
Situated in some of the most stunning parts of the UK, THE PIG's ‘restaurants with rooms’ have long been supporters of artisanal English wine and Sugrue South Downs – so much so that its founder Robin became our Chairman in 2022.
THE PIGs' Kamil Oseka is known for crafting a 25-mile menu that utilises the finest English ingredients grown in THE PIGs' kitchen gardens, alongside produce sourced from local farmers, fisherman, and foragers. Expect stunning seasonality and porcine perfection in his menu.
Mitch & Ben Tonks – The Seahorse (Sunday 6th July, 12.30pm)
Mitch & Ben Tonks – The Seahorse (Sunday 6th July, 12.30pm)
Mitch and Ben Tonks are the father-and-son duo behind one of our favourite restaurants: The Seahorse in Dartmouth.
Founded by Mitch in 2008, the restaurant is still among the best places on the planet to enjoy super-fresh fish with an Italian twist. The Tonks’ group also includes Rockfish, a collection of excellent casual seafood restaurants dotted along on the Southwest coast, as well as a wholesale fish business that supplies customers and restaurants up and down the UK.
These days, Mitch’s talented son Ben rattles the saucepans at The Seahorse on a day-to-day basis, so it’s an absolute treat and a privilege to have this family team cooking together for us under one roof.
Mark Hix & Henry Harris (Sunday 10th August, 12.30pm)
Mark Hix & Henry Harris (Sunday 10th August, 12.30pm)
Quite apart from being the author of numerous cookery books and an award-winning columnist for The Telegraph Magazine, Mark Hix’s legacy stretches back to the early days of the UK food revolution of the 90s and 00s when he steered Modern British cuisine into its golden age.
After a classical training in London’s top hotels, Mark joined the original Ivy restaurant and Caprice group, creating many of the iconic dishes which are still seen on their menus today.
A keen forager with an encyclopaedic knowledge of hedgerow and seashore, Mark’s cooking showcases the absolute best of seasonal British produce.
Henry Harris is the undisputed master of classic French cookery and the chef-owner of another favourite of ours – the Lyon-inspired Bouchon Racine in Farringdon. Henry can also count Bibendum, Hilaire, The Fifth Floor at Harvey Nichols, and the original Racine in Knightsbridge to his credit.
These are two titans of the UK restaurant scene that have been at the top of their game for many years – to have them cooking side-by-side is a rare occasion and not to be missed.
Angela Hartnett & Neil Borthwick (Sunday 21st September, 12.30pm)
Angela Hartnett & Neil Borthwick (Sunday 21st September, 12.30pm)
A culinary national treasure with celebrity status to boot, Angela Hartnett is without doubt one of the finest chefs in the UK, known for her relaxed, but refined Italian cooking style inspired by her grandmother’s kitchen.
When not working the stoves at her Michelin-starred Murano in Mayfair, her small group of Café Murano restaurants, or at Lime Wood, Angela can be found co-hosting the hugely popular podcast ‘Dish’ with Nick Grimshaw.
What Angela is to the Italian kitchen, her immensely talented husband Neil Borthwick is to French cuisine. Trained in two- and three-star Michelin restaurants across France and London, Neil is head chef at The French House – the historic restaurant on Soho’s Dean Street that was once a favourite haunt of writers and artists and is now a Mecca for food lovers.
